Kevin & Sara
We believe adoption is a beautiful and courageous gift, and we are so grateful you are taking the time to read our profile. We have so much love, laughter, adventures and opportunities to share with your child. As a family who already knows the immense joy a child brings, our hearts are wide open and ready. To be chosen as your child's parents would mean everything to us. We hope our story speaks to you and that you will consider our family to move through this journey with you.
Our/My Hopes for an Open Adoption

Our hopes for an open adoption is that it will be whatever the birth mother and child need, throughout their journey. We are here to support that connection and hopefully facilitate their emotional journey. We hope to keep in touch through letters, pictures, and visits. We also hope to be able to provide the birth mother access to a family album with pictures of the baby as they grow. We are open to meeting in person and video calls. We hope to keep the lines of communication open to changing needs and wishes of birth mother and child as we continue the journey. We hope that an open adoption will always provide the child with a lasting connection to where and who they come from, as well as their heritage.
Ultimately, our promise to you is to never lose touch, to never lapse on our responsibility to you and this child to make sure you both have access to that connection. We will tell them regularly how much you love them and that the choices that lead you here were made in love and were not easy. We hope to always honor your journey and to always speak of you and your story with kindness, love and respect. Our hope for this open adoption is to provide ways for you and this child to connect and maintain your connection however that evolves in the future.
Our Promise to You

We promise you that this child will be loved and cherished by us, our daughter, and our extended family and friends. We promise to take your little one on trips to see the world and vacations to amusement parks, zoos, aquariums and other fun places. We promise to always follow their interests when it comes to extra curriculars such as sports, dance, music lessons, anything they seem to love. We promise to always honor them as an individual and give them every opportunity to excel in life, including higher education if they wish. We promise to love them with all our heart and keep them safe.
Most importantly, we will honor you by raising your child with pride in their full story. Your courageous, selfless decision will always be spoken of with deep gratitude and love. Sara is planing to write a book using real images that depict their birth and adoption story, so they will always know where they come from and that this is a journey of love.
Sara is a stay at home mother and promises to always be there for your little one in every way, for every little fear, every boo-boo, every tear. Kevin works from home so is never far away and is always available for love and support.
About Us
We met in 2014 on an online dating website when Kevin asked Sara which iteration of the character The Doctor from Doctor Who she preferred. We instantly connected over nerdy interests such as a love for reading, Star Trek, Star Wars, The Princess Bride, and video games. We got married in 2017 and started trying to grow our family the next year. Four years and about 9 months later we were able to bring our daughter into the world with the help of an anonymous egg donor, whom we are so grateful to every day. Our relationship is built on genuine friendship, open communication, and mutual respect. Sara has always said that if we can survive years of infertility during the pandemic, we can survive anything. During our leisure time we love to visit our local creek to play in the water and cool off. Other times we enjoy watching ridiculous horror movies and trying to work out the plot. We have gone to Renaissance faires yearly since the beginning of our relationship.
Sara has always loved reading, especially Romantasy these days. She enjoys playing cozy video games such as Stardew Valley, when there is time. She is introverted, with a love of relaxing in nature, and she has always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, children’s librarian, a preschool teacher, or all of the above. She always aims to be an open-minded, thoughtful, and honest person. She is quick to laughter, full of empathy towards others, and happiest when creating art, crafts, or crochet. Like Sara, Kevin has also loved reading from a young age and is often reading Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or the occasional foray into non-fiction. He enjoys playing video games, often puzzle-based, and has been making his own beer for about 6 years (at Sara’s encouragement). Kevin went into software development because it all feels like a giant puzzle and he very much enjoys both his career and the fact that he can do it from a home office. Best of all, he loves that he can step out at any time to play with our daughter.

Our Extended Families

Sara's parents, brother and sister in law live 15 minutes down the road and are very involved in our lives. When we decided to move to Northern California, Sara's family chose to move too so we could all stay close. They are very supportive of our family and extremely supportive and excited for our adoption journey. We love hosting the holidays at our home since we have plenty of room for everyone to gather. We love to cook together, do themed crafts, sometimes we all play Mario Party together which is always very funny and a lot of fun. Our family is always there for every birthday and meaningful event because it is just as important to them as it is to us.

Kevin's parents live in Thousand Oaks and we take turns visiting each other a few times a year. His younger brother and sister in law live in San Diego while his twin sister, brother in law and two nieces live in Boston. We all make a point of getting together at least once a year down in Thousand Oaks for a week. They are all funny and lovingly supportive people. They are so excited and hopeful about our adoption journey. We are hoping to start traveling to Boston once a year for our daughter and nieces to be able to spend time together too. Kevin and Sara have an extremely supportive family, especially when it comes to our journey to grow our family. They watched as we struggled through infertility for years and supported us every step of the way. We had our daughter through the use of egg adoption and they were extremely supportive of that journey too. Now that we hope to complete our family through adoption, they have had many questions but never have we doubted they will love and cherish this child.
Our House and Neighborhood

We recently moved to a home full of sunshine with a yard full of soft green grass to play on. It's a 3 bed, 2 bath with a big kitchen and dining room. The living room is so full of sunshine and space to play games on the carpet. There is also the nook in the dining area that we use as our craft space and that has brought a lot of joy too. We live right next to an amazing park and splash pad, literally a 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk on the sidewalk and bike path. The park has many swing sets and a play structure that looks like a castle with tons of slides! The splash pad is an amazing place during the summer where we often see babies and children playing in the water. We go often and love it.
Sara makes a point of finding annual events for our family or herself and our daughter to attend. We go to the Renaissance fair every year, join the local Easter Egg Hunts at the sports complex, go to Trick or Treating events at the mall, attend a Christmas themed light viewing spectacular at our local museum and garden. We also have a membership at the museum so we can attend special family themed events as well as utilize the museum to see animals, exhibits and play in the outside play and exploration structures. We are also close to other family friendly cities that we often travel to in order to visit places such as the zoo, aquariums and amusement parks. Sara finds joy in arranging family outings, finding local events and planning fun adventures in our area.
From Us to You

Thank you for reading our letter. Choosing an adoptive family is a huge decision, and we are truly grateful you are taking the time to learn a little about us. We respect the courage and care it takes to take this step. We can only imagine the strength you must have and want you to know, no matter what, we wish the best for you.
We have been together since 2014. We met through an online dating site. In 2017 we got married and our egg donor IVF daughter was born in 2022. We are a very tight knit family/couple. We use careful and open communication and work to always be a team. If you have any other questions for us about our relationship, family or each of us please do not hesitate to ask.
We want to be up front: we do not have a set template for how our relationship with you should look. Every situation is unique, and we believe the plan should be built around what is genuinely best for your child and comfortable for you. If you prefer periodic photos and written updates, we will send them reliably. If you hope for open contact through video calls or visits, we are open to working out what works best for everyone with that as well. If you need time and space before deciding what feels right, we will honor that without any pressure. Whatever we agree on, we want you to know the door will always remain open for you to reach out and we always send those pictures and letters no matter what, especially in case you ever want/ need to re-establish contact. We also use an app called Family Album to include our extended family on picture updates of our daughter currently. We would love to create one for your baby if that sounds appealing to you. All that to say, we are very open to discussing what is going to work best for you and for us and we will always be open to having that conversation again as needed.
We also promise to honor your child’s heritage, family customs, and background. We want to learn about the traditions and culture that matter to you so we can actively keep them alive in our home. Your child will grow up knowing these details are an important part of who they are. Most importantly, we will always be open and honest with your child about their adoption story. We won't make it a secret or a difficult topic to talk about; it will simply be a natural, celebrated part of their life from day one. When they have questions about you or their roots, we will answer them with complete honesty and respect, encouraging a connection with you whenever appropriate.
We plan to create a little picture board book that shows the steps of the baby's adoption story, hopefully with an image and some information about you if you are comfortable with it. That way they will have a story specific to them and their story of how they came to be and came into our lives. We hope to have the opportunity to create this book and use it as a way to further openly discuss their journey and spark questions.
We cannot offer a perfect, struggle-free life, but we can offer a stable, loving home built on honesty. Your child will grow up deeply loved and fully aware of where they came from.
Thank you again for considering us. Whatever path you choose, we wish you peace and strength as you move forward.
With gratitude,
Kevin & Sara
