Philip & John
Thank you so much for reading our profile. Our household is built on laughter, hospitality, and simple everyday joys like cooking together, taking care of our yard, and walking our dog to the local park. We hold deep respect for you and your decision, and we would be honored to build a life of unconditional love with your child.
Why We Chose Adoption
We have always known that building a family was something we wanted to do together. From early in our relationship, as we talked about our future, our hopes, and the kind of home we wanted to create, adoption was a natural and intentional choice for us.
For us, family is built on unconditional love, steady support, and shared daily life. We have so much warmth, security, and joy to offer, and choosing adoption feels like the most meaningful way for us to become parents.
We are excited for the everyday moments—from morning walks to family meals—and we look forward with open hearts to welcoming your child into our lives.
Leisure Time

In our free time, we love staying active and enjoying simple everyday passions. On weekends, you can often find us playing tennis at our local park, tending to our native garden, or spending time together in the kitchen. We enjoy cooking meals from scratch, baking sweet treats, and hosting friends and family for relaxed dinners.

We also share a deep curiosity for the world around us. We love visiting local museums, catching movies, and traveling to explore new cultures, landscapes, and cuisines.
As parents, we are so excited to share these everyday joys with a child. Whether we are planting seeds in the yard, exploring a museum exhibit, or baking weekend treats together, we look forward to encouraging their curiosity and building wonderful memories as a family.
What it Means to Be Parents
To us, being parents means creating a safe, loving foundation where a child can grow into their own unique, confident self. It is about offering unconditional support, patience, and guidance through every stage of life, while building a home filled with warmth, stability, and laughter.
What we look forward to most is sharing the simple, everyday moments together. We cannot wait to show your child the world around them—whether that means reading bedtime stories, teaching them how to garden, exploring neighborhood parks, or introducing them to family traditions in the kitchen.
Parenting is a lifelong commitment of love and learning. We are excited to guide your child through life’s small milestones and big adventures, celebrating who they are every step of the way.

Our Extended Families

John’s father lives nearby in a senior community, and his cousins live close to us in our city. We enjoy hosting them at our home for holidays and meeting at local restaurants to catch up on recent travels and everyday life.
Philip’s parents and John’s mother all live in Southwest Florida. We take a trip to visit them around Thanksgiving or Christmas each year, where we enjoy the warm weather, nice hikes, and time on the beach.

Our family represents a wonderful mix of cultures. Philip’s background is Italian and Eastern European, while John’s father is Ghanaian and his mother’s side is Czech. We celebrate our diverse backgrounds by preparing family recipes in our kitchen and continuing traditions we enjoyed as children.
Our entire extended family—including our parents, brothers, and cousins—is thrilled about our plans for adoption. They cannot wait to welcome a child into our family with open arms.
Our House and Neighborhood

We live in a charming 1910 single-family home in a peaceful, tree-lined neighborhood in Washington, DC. Our house combines classic architectural detail with modern renovations. Since moving in, we have planted 14 trees alongside native flowers and plants in our front and back yards, creating a vibrant haven for local birds and butterflies.

Our neighborhood is friendly, diverse, and multi-generational. On our block, families with young children live alongside long-time residents who raised their own families here. At any given moment, you can hear children playing, dogs greeting each other, and neighbors chatting on front porches.
We are just a five-minute walk from a wonderful local park equipped with a playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, and baseball fields. It is a warm, welcoming community with plenty of kids for a child to grow up alongside, and we love the idea of spending weekends playing in the park and enjoying our garden together.
From Us to You

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our profile and for considering us as you make this incredibly important decision. We cannot pretend to fully understand the weight of the choices you are weighing right now, but we want to start by acknowledging your profound strength and deep love for your child. We hold immense respect for your journey, and we are deeply grateful for the chance to introduce ourselves to you.
We are John and Philip. We have been together for twelve years and married for seven of those years, and our relationship is the strong, joyful foundation of our lives. Over the last decade, we have grown together through life’s ups and downs, learning that open communication, shared laughter, and unwavering mutual support can get us through anything. We have always known that we wanted to build a family together, and we believe our twelve years of partnership have prepared us to provide a deeply loving, stable, and warm environment for a child.
We live in a peaceful, tree-lined neighborhood in Washington, D.C., in a charming historic home. It is a wonderfully diverse and friendly community where kids play in the yards and neighbors chat on their front porches. One of our greatest everyday joys has been planting a garden full of native flowers and trees to attract birds and butterflies to our yard. On weekends, you will usually find us tending to our garden, baking in the kitchen, or walking down the street to our local neighborhood park. We share our home with our two-year-old rescue dog, Kenny. He is a gentle, cuddly, and affectionate companion who loves to greet all the kids in our neighborhood, and we know he will be a wonderful, loyal friend to a child.
Family is at the center of everything we do. Our household represents a vibrant mix of cultures—John is biracial with Ghanaian and Czech roots, and Philip’s heritage is Italian and Eastern European. We celebrate these backgrounds through family recipes, music, and traditions. We are also incredibly fortunate to have a close-knit extended family. From John’s father and cousins who live nearby, to our parents in Florida whom we visit every winter, our families are absolutely thrilled about our plans to adopt. If you choose us, your child will be surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who are already eagerly waiting to welcome them. We are committed to providing your child with exceptional educational support, exposure to art and music, and a nurturing environment where their unique identity is validated, celebrated, and deeply loved.
We know that an adoption plan involves immense trust, and we want to be completely open with you about our commitment to you as a birth mother. We promise that we will send letters and pictures to you so that you can see your child grow, thrive, and experience life’s milestones. Beyond that, we are fully open to all forms of contact that you feel comfortable with, including the exchange of emails and phone calls. We are also entirely open to an open adoption with future visits. We would be eager to travel to visit with you, and we would always be honored to host you in our home for visits as well. We want your child to know exactly where they came from, and to always know that you are a respected, honored part of their story.
Whatever path you choose, we hope you find peace and clarity in your decision. Thank you again for taking a moment to look into our lives.
With deep respect and gratitude,
Philip & John
