Alix & Katie
Hello and welcome to our profile page! We deeply admire your strength, love, and courage; and respect the thoughtful decision you are making in considering adoption for your child. Our family is the foundation of our lives and the focus of everything we do, and we are excited about the possibility of welcoming another child into our home and hearts through adoption. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us, it would truly be an honor to welcome your child into our family.
What it Means to be Parents

Becoming moms was the most exciting moment in our lives. We knew parenthood would change us in ways we couldn't imagine and it truly has. Being parents is the most rewarding experience of our lives. While there are challenges, the joy of watching our daughter grow, learn, and discover new things every day is truly a gift.
Parenthood has taught us so much about caring for a child, and also about ourselves. We've learned how to be patient, how to listen, and how to create a home where our daughter feels loved, supported, and encouraged to thrive. We love teaching her new things and it is rewarding to watch her grow and learn. We have learned to discuss how we are going to handle different developmental stages and parenting challenges before they come up to ensure we are on the same page and are consistent. Our greatest hope is to give our children the tools they need to be happy, confident, and kind.
Every morning, we wake up excited to see our daughter smile and hear her laughter. Whether we're playing outside, reading together, or sharing a meal, we treasure the time we spend as a family. For us, being parents isn't just about raising a child. It's about building a life filled with love, laughter, and security.
How We Met
We met on a true blind date! No dating apps, no social media, just a mutual friend who thought we'd be a good match because of our shared interests: our love of the beach, paddle boarding, our dogs, our families, and the fact that we're both nurses. Katie doesn't use social media, so the only information Alix could find about her was work related. Katie was very hesitant, but her friends convinced her to give it a try, saying at the very least she might gain a new paddle board buddy.
After a few weeks of slightly awkward text exchanges, we finally decided to meet for a casual dinner and from that moment, everything changed. There was an instant connection, and it didn't take long for us to realize we wanted to spend our lives together and build a family.
In the five years since that first date, we've shared countless adventures, laughter, and love. Ironically, we've only managed to paddle board together about five times! Needless to say, we are extremely grateful we agreed to the blind date.
Life Priorities
Family, happiness, honesty, and love are the priorities in our life. We plan our schedules to ensure we have time together as a family every day. Preparing and eating dinner together is extremely important to us and is our chance to connect with each other at the end of the day. We often discuss what the best part of our day was or challenges we had that day. In addition, we try to maintain a home full of love and fun. We are often outside playing in the yard, doing arts and crafts, playing board games, or dancing around the house. We are also always up for a fun adventure together to the local zoo, aquarium, or walk at our local park.
We truly try to live a life filled with joy and meaning, valuing happiness and love over material things. Our greatest wish for our daughter and any children we may have, is that they grow up feeling supported and loved, with the confidence to pursue their dreams and what brings them true happiness. We hope they have every opportunity to learn, grow, and create a life that feels meaningful to them. In addition, we value the importance of education and plan to provide them with the opportunity to attend college to pursue their career goals. More than anything, we want their lives to be full of joy, laughter, and love.

Our Extended Families

We feel very fortunate to live within driving distance of both of our families, which means we get to spend time with them often. Family is a big part of our lives, and we love sharing traditions and making memories together.

Katie's family gathers regularly for family dinners and takes an annual beach vacation that we all look forward to. When we're together, we enjoy spending time outdoors, playing board games, working on puzzles, and eating ice cream. Holidays are especially meaningful with Katie's family. We have many traditions, like baking cookies, cooking and enjoying traditional Italian dishes, going on an annual Christmas shopping trip, and visiting Santa. These moments are filled with laughter and love, and they're something we cherish deeply.
Alix's family is very active and we enjoy cheering on her nephews and niece at their sporting events and performances. They're also big fans of board and card games, and there's always a friendly competition going on! One of our favorite traditions with Alix's family is an annual ski trip during the winter holidays. It's a time for fun on the slopes, sharing meals, playing games, and lots of family bonding.
We treasure these connections and the joy they bring us. Our families are excited to welcome another child and share these traditions, adventures, and special moments.
Our House and Neighborhood

Delaware - We live in a small coastal town in Delaware, a few miles from the beach. Our home is a cozy three-bedroom ranch on a quiet cul-de-sac, and we have a big yard for running around and playing. There are lots of families with kids nearby, so our daughter always has friends to hang out with at home, the library, the beach, or one of the local playgrounds.
One of the best parts about where we live is how close everything is. We can walk to the schools, the library, playgrounds, and the grocery store. The library is a favorite spot in our town. It has fun activities every week including story time, Tools for Tots, and Baby Friday.
Our town is full of life. There are outdoor concerts, arts and crafts festivals, and a weekly farmers market where neighbors gather and kids play. Families here love spending time together, and there are many activities for children such as arts and crafts, Feelings Rock, and open gym.
We also love the annual town traditions. Katie's favorite is the annual Christmas parade. It's a magical way to kick off the holiday season. Alix looks forward to the Fourth of July celebrations every year. The day is packed with family fun: kid's games on Main Street, a boat parade along the canal, an afternoon parade downtown, and fireworks over the beach. We feel very lucky to live in a place that's welcoming and full of joy.
From Us to You

We are grateful you are reviewing our profile and want you to know that we deeply respect you for considering adoption for you and your child. We cannot imagine how scary this decision is for you. You are extremely brave and loving. If you chose us to raise your child, we will embrace and love them.
We met on a blind date set-up by a mutual friend and had an instant connection. We knew very quickly that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We both value our families deeply and share the values of honesty, respect and love. This in combination with our love of the beach, water activities and our dogs made us a perfect match!
A year after we met, we decided to begin the process of building our family and we were very fortunate to welcome our daughter in 2023. Becoming parents has been an amazing journey, one with overwhelming happiness and joy but also unexpected challenges. It has helped us grow as a couple and as individuals. Most importantly, it has provided us the opportunity to know the unconditional love of a child.
Our home is full of love, happiness, and family. We are very family focused and prioritize spending time with each other, our daughter, and extended families. We are always outside either playing in the yard, riding bikes around town, meeting friends at the playground or at the beach. We love spending time at the beach and doing activities on the water. Katie can’t wait to teach our children how to fish and Alix can’t wait to teach them how to surf. We both look forward to teaching them to ride waves and paddleboard.
Our extended families play an important part in our lives. Katie’s mom, nieces, and nephew visit frequently, and we share many family traditions with them including baking, shopping, family meals, and family beach vacations. We often play board games and do puzzles together. We frequently visit Alix’s family to attend sporting events of her niece and nephews and we go on an annual family ski vacation. Alix can’t wait to teach our children to ski. Katie however, will be hanging out at the house baking cookies and making hot chocolate.
We hope to provide our children with the love and security to grow into happy, healthy adults and feel comfortable with who they are as a person. We have experienced life challenges including divorce, death of loved ones, and illness; through these experiences we have learned ways to handle life's struggles and have grown as individuals. We know our children will face challenges throughout their lives and we promise to do our best to prepare them to navigate future challenges. Most importantly, we will provide them with unconditional love and support.
We hope this provides you with a glimpse of who we truly are: fun, family focused, and loving. We are extremely excited to welcome your child into our family and incorporate their story into our lives. Photographs are an extremely important part of our home and family story. We look and talk about the photos throughout our house often. We hope to incorporate photographs of you and your family to ensure your child knows you and their story. We promise to provide you with photographs, letters, and email updates often. We promise to provide your child with all the love, laughter, opportunities, and support possible.
We are extremely grateful for you and admire you for considering adoption for your child. We know this decision is very difficult and want you to be confident you are choosing the right path for you and your child. Thank you again for reading our profile and considering us.
