Our Life Priorities

We Can't Wait to be Parents!

As a family, we have chosen a set of values and beliefs that influence our decisions and help guide our lives. Our values and beliefs are: to love one another, love people, and to follow and honor God in all that we do. We both grew up in Christian families, and have some of the best memories growing up in the church attending Sunday school, going to summer church camps, and building lifelong friendships. These shared experiences and our continued commitment to our beliefs over the years, has really helped us grow as a couple and build a strong relationship that puts family first. We can’t wait to share some of these great experiences with our child and help them build a strong set of values and beliefs.

It is also our desire to provide our child with every opportunity to flourish and reach whatever goal they may have. We will always work hard to provide them with opportunities to experience life to the fullest! Whether it be trying out a new hobby, attending a college or university, traveling to study abroad, or learning a new language. Our hopes and dreams for our child are that they get to experience the world with love, laughter, and a family that will support them through it all.

Our Leisure Time

Catching a College Football Game

We’re an active couple who enjoys attending sporting events, cultural events, biking, and walking our dog, Chief, on the trails. Danielle loves to read and work in her flower beds and Jack loves all things yard maintenance. We also spend a lot of time enjoying great food at local restaurants and listening to live music with friends.

On a typical Saturday morning you will find us strolling through the farmer’s market picking up some fresh produce or trying out a new bakery for breakfast. Exploring different parts of our amazing city always brings fun adventures on the weekends, whether it's walking through our city zoo, checking out the various museums, or attending cultural festivals. We are looking forward to many new adventures with a child as part of our family.

When we are not out on our own adventures, a majority of our nights are spent with family. Church, Sunday dinners, catching up with our loved ones, lawn games, and lots of yummy foods are a priority on the weekends. Vacations and trips to the lake are also frequent in the summer time because Danielle has the summer’s off. Our goal has always been at least one big vacation a year and beach vacations to places like Aruba and Hawaii seem to be our favorites. It’s our hope to continue these vacation traditions with a child where we can splash in the waves, build sand castles, ski, tube, and build many new memories.

Why We Chose Adoption

Adoption has been a part of each of our stories in many different ways throughout the years. We have friends and family who were adopted as children, and we have friends who have recently adopted little ones. Danielle’s first experience with adoption was watching a dear family friend adopt from China, and bringing home the most precious little girl. She babysat her over the years and watched her grow into a beautiful, happy, talented and very successful young lady. Jack’s first experience with adoption came when getting to know one of his very closest friends in high school who was adopted from Korea. His friendship and long-lasting relationship with his family showed him what an incredible gift adoption truly can be. These joyful stories and experiences have been inspiring and such a blessing to us both, teaching us different things and preparing us for our future. It’s as if adoption has been woven into our lives leading us down this path before we even realized it was our path. We couldn’t feel more certain that God is calling us to build a family with a special child that is chosen for us through adoption. We truly feel that it is a gift!

Our Extended Families

Danielle's Family

Most of our free time on any given weekend is spent amongst both of our large extended families. Almost everyone lives in the surrounding area, so barbeques, cookouts, game nights, and dinners are frequent. It not only brings us joy to host and attend family gatherings; but fills our lives with our most valued and loved relationships.

Some of our favorite family traditions include; making elaborate holiday plans together, summer weekends at the family lake house, and traveling together. We take yearly family adventures to new cities in the U.S; exploring the food, the sites, and the people. The frequent summer trips to the lake have also helped create countless memories of laughter and joy; fishing, boating, tubing, skiing, or just sitting under the stars laughing and reminiscing. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fourth of July, etc; also include endless traditional homemade foods, sweets, and pastimes.

Jack's Family

We are so fortunate to have such a big, lovable, growing family close by to get to enjoy and do all these things with. We’re excited to include our child on these adventures and build a lifetime of memories alongside them. Not only will our child be so loved by us, but they will be adored and spoiled by two very large and loving families.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

For the past three years we have lived in our bright and open four-bedroom home, overlooking beautiful trees and walking trails. We have loved completing house projects and maintaining the gardens, making it a place we enjoy inviting our neighbors to.

Our neighborhood is a perfect place to raise a child. Families on all sides of us are in the midst of raising children. We often spend many evenings together grilling and having s'mores around a fire while watching the kids play on their bikes. During the day, you will see kids playing in the neighborhood pool or swinging along the monkey bars at the local elementary school playground. On Fall Friday nights, you can hear the football game and band in the near distance. It makes for a tight knit community that we trust and appreciate.

The surrounding area and downtown city also provide an opportunity for cultural and city-wide events. Celebrating the Royals or the Chiefs, or attending a big St. Patty's day parade are some of our favorite activities to enjoy every year in our area. A child will love growing up here with friends on every corner.

From Us to You

We write this letter with grateful hearts, acknowledging that you must have so many questions and thoughts going on right now. We wonder what you are feeling, what you’re thinking, and who you are as an individual. Maybe you are a bit scared, a bit overwhelmed, a bit calm. We are probably feeling a little bit of all those things as well. We hope that by reading our profile, it allows you to feel more at ease with knowing who we are as a couple and what your child's life might look like if you choose us for adoption. We promise to not only love your child wholeheartedly, but to also always speak of you in a loving and open way.

We know that the love you have for your unborn child must be immense. Without even meeting them, you already want the absolute best for them. We want you to know that if you choose our family, you will always be a part of their story. We would tell your child that they are loved and adored by you, and that you chose us to raise and love them as an extension of you. They will be the luckiest child in the world knowing that they were loved so much that they were chosen not once, but twice, all because you wanted to give them the world.

This child will know their story from the beginning. It will be an integral part of who they are and how they identify with themselves. Our hope is that by sharing and being open early on, they will be able to grow up strong, confident, and re-assured that they are exactly where they are supposed to be. Please know that by sending you pictures, letters, and emails, you will be able to stay connected with this child as they grow up.

We believe that our lives have led us down the path for adoption, and we couldn’t feel more honored to be a part of this journey. With that said, there's so many things that we want you to know about us so that you can feel confident that we are the best match for you. Adoption has been on our heart for the past several years, and we truly believe that it will work out exactly as it should. We want to open our hearts and our home to a little one that will be so loved. Our home is prepped and ready to provide them with all the space in the world to grow and flourish. They will also be spoiled by our family that is anxiously waiting alongside us to bring them into our lives.

If you can imagine a home where family is gathered around the table, constantly laughing, playing, and supporting one another. Where books, snuggles, trips to the park, walks to school, and playdates with friends occur often; this will be the norm for our daily lives with our child. Holidays will be filled with traditions and big get-togethers with grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Weekends will be filled with barbecues, neighborhood hangouts, sporting events, and lake trips. Vacations and adventures will be taken to relax and build fun memories. If you can imagine all the big things, all the way down to the simplest yet sweetest things in life; their lives will be filled with comfort, love, joy, and so much more.

Thank you for considering adoption and considering us as parents for your child. We know that you have a very difficult choice ahead and whatever your decision is, will be exactly right for you and your child. You are in our prayers as you navigate this journey. Just know that we are committed and ready, and will be the safe, loving, supportive family that your child deserves.

With love and gratitude,

Jack & Danielle
