How We Met

Just the Two of Us

We met when Andrew was working on a construction job in Florida where Pam was living. When we met, we spent almost every evening together getting to know each other. Andrew's construction job was almost completed and with the company he was working with, he was going to be relocated. After 2 months of dating, Andrew had to move to New Orleans and Pamela stayed in Florida. One of our favorite memories as a couple was when Pamela traveled to visit Andrew in New Orleans. We spent the weekend sightseeing and enjoying each other's company.

It didn't take long for either of us to realize that we needed to be together permanently. After 5 months of long-distance, Andrew made the decision to move to Florida and live there permanently. Six months after moving to Florida Andrew proposed to Pamela and less than a year after that we were married! We have been married for almost 7 years now and have accomplished so much as a couple. It hasn't always been easy but together, we have been able to overcome those hard times.

Our Career

Pam and Her Co-Teachers

Pamela is currently a teacher. She has been a teacher for 11 years and works in exceptional student education. Since she began teaching, she has been with the 4/5 year old Prekindergarten students who have disabilities. Being a teacher has allowed Pamela to work with people from all different backgrounds. She loves her students as if they are her own and makes sure each child she has ever taught feels safe, loved, smart and important. Once we have our child, Pamela will be able to have all holidays and summers off to spend quality time and make memories. Andrew currently works from home as an insurance agent. He previously worked construction and recently made the decision to change career paths to insurance where he has the potential of more growth and success. Since Andrew works from home, he will be able to be home with our child everyday to help care for them.

What Made Us Who we are Today

Without a doubt who we are as individuals and as a couple today is based largely in our family and our upbringing. We were both blessed to have immediate and extended families be part of our lives.

Both of our parents/families were never well off, our parents worked multiple jobs at a time to make our lives as comfortable as possible. That type of ethic and commitment always made us feel secure and loved. Even as adults we speak with our parents multiple times a week, whether asking for advice or just keeping in touch with our lives.

Every holiday and birthday are celebrated together with our families. We are both extremely lucky to have both sets of parents still married for such a long time. Watching their relationships from children, all the way to adults, provided us with a framework on how to make our marriage strong.

It taught us how to love and grow with one another as a couple. It showed us that even though times can be hard, we have each other to make it through. It made us the couple that we are today!

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a beautiful Florida community that has all different types of families and children of different ages. Holidays are a special time in our neighborhood with community involvement including trick or treating and decorating. Our home is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house that has an extra living room full of windows, which is our favorite room to be in. We love sitting in there and looking out the windows, especially when it is raining. Our second favorite room in the house in our kitchen/dining room. We eat dinner together at our dining room table every night, and it is such a special time to connect with each other.

We have a beautiful fenced in backyard with a pool and patio space to grill out and enjoy eating outside. Our two dogs love exploring the backyard. We have a pond behind our house that has turtles, fish and ducks living in. We also live in a bird conservatory neighborhood so we get to see and hear many different kinds of birds. There is a park close by in our neighborhood that has sports leagues. We also live close to the beaches and nature parks.

Our Extended Families

With Pam's Family

Pamela's parents and sister live close by with her niece. She has another brother who lives in NY with his family including our niece and nephew. Andrew's parents and grandparents live in Kansas, along with a brother and his family including our four nieces. He also has a brother who lives in Texas with his family including another niece and nephew. Every year we travel to Kansas to visit Andrew's family for the holidays. This year was special. Everyone was there and they were so excited to hear about all the details of our adoption journey. We were able to get pictures with all the family members and they were so excited to be a part of this process.

With Pam's family, who lives close by, we are able to enjoy more frequent visits and BBQ's on the weekend with swimming. Pam's family is equally as excited. Both of our families have been supportive of our adoption process since the day we told them about it. They are anticipating this child as much as we are!

With Drew's Parents

From Us to You

We understand how challenging and emotional this time is for you. Your strength and courage to consider making an adoption plan is admirable. We know that every decision you are making at this time is in the best interest of the child. Even though we may not know each other right now, if we are picked, we hope to get to know you so we can share as much as possible about you with the child as they grow because this child will always have a piece of your heart. We would love to keep in contact with you before and after placement by phone or email, if you are comfortable with that.

If we are picked, we have some promises that we would like to make to you and the child. We promise to love them as our own. We promise to love them unconditionally. We promise to provide them with a safe and stable home. We promise to ensure their happiness. We promise to be the best parents that we can be.

We can’t wait to introduce old family traditions of carving pumpkins, going to see Christmas lights and king of the egg at Easter (we can tell you all about that!) and then to create new traditions with our child. Our families are so excited to add another baby to the family. They will have great grandparents, grandparents, many aunts and uncles and a whole bunch of cousins and two fur baby dog sisters to welcome them and shower them with love. We are looking forward to celebrating all of their milestones and achievements throughout the years and would love to share those with you through pictures, letters and phone calls, whatever you are most comfortable with. We will encourage our child to follow their dreams and we will be there to support them along the way. Education is important to us and we will help them learn and grow to be successful in their academic career.

Andrew is so excited to teach a child how to play sports and how to swim and Pamela can’t wait to read books to them everyday and do crafts. We can’t wait to finally have a party of three at our dining room table for dinner every night and to hear all about their day. We are looking forward to summers in the pool and having another player for our family game nights.

Choosing adoption is one of the most selfless acts of love a mother can do. Everyone has different situations that can alter the path of their life. We feel that your beautiful sacrifice of love, by making an adoption plan and considering us to care for this beautiful child, would put us on our most amazing path yet. We have been together for 9 years and married for 7 and our house is full of unconditional love. This would be our first child and we can’t wait to add them to our family and show them the love and affection that we’ve been waiting so long to give to a child.

Although our fertility journey ended we both knew that adoption is the path for making our family whole. We were both blessed with loving families and knew from a young age that we were meant to be parents! If you choose us, not only would it be a great life for the child but you will be fulfilling our life long dreams.

Thank you so much for considering us and may whatever decision you make bring you peace in knowing that the child will be so loved!
